After taking my class in the end of January and waiting for the state to process the paperwork i FINALLY got my letter. It sadi to "Come on down to the sheriff's office" (being I'm in Kentucky and all) bring this form sometime after the 26th.

I finished up my work early and headed down to the office. Circled the block and found a parking space with plenty of time to spare it was only 4:00. elevator ride up and turn right into the locked doors of the sheriff's office. Hours 8:00 AM to 4:00PM. :fire:

went back down yesterday after taking a half day. made it down 2 hours earlier. Elevator up turn right....lady at the window says "Oh, we closed at 2 today because of the Holiday....Ya know...3 days before The Kentucky Derby Holiday....I bit my lip and pouted my way out.

I'm sure one day i'll actually get the card i have been waiting for since January but Govt. offices are to to be taken lightly or seriously for that matter.

Oh and Merry Ky. Derby to you and yours.

This is Holy Week in Louisville. If you live there, you should know that. Why are you worrying about personal defense when you should be wearing big hats and drinking mint julips. [Anybody have a mint julip smilie?]
 
Yeah bad week to be trying man. I think everyone, including the police, are more worried about sitting back and having a drink under their big hat than actually working. Today is the Parade so I doubt you will have much luck either.
 
The good news is they're fast as can be processing them.. or at least used to be. I got mine back in maybe 10 days?
 
so all you have to do is pickup your ccdw... hopefully... it's a matter of trading paper with the clerk and walking out the door, i'll stay out of louisville anytime soon....


ky derby, yet another reason this state is broke.... budget who needs a budget...
 
I know I am paranoid.... I called them to make sure it was in and I called to make sure they'd be there (and it wasn't even Derby week!) and then showed up way ahead of their closing time.

Those kind of things seem to ALWAYS happen to me!

Call RIGHT before you go, get a name, and make them tell you they will be there. THEN.... if you're lucky.... ;)

problem resolved.....i got down there nice and early....took in the paper work...a quick search thru the files and poof

legal CCDW card carrier.
