I bought this Winchester P-14 a couple years back. It had had a mild sporterization at some stage, but the barrelled action was unaltered and in very good condition -- I thought it was a candidate for remilitarization.

At first I stuck it into some cheap beater DP furniture, but knowledgeable shooters look at you funny when you shoot a rifle that is marked for drill use.

Other used P-14 military stocks I was coming across seemed to have been rode hard and put away wet, and overpriced to boot. My 60th birthday is this month, so along with some books I decided to go whole hog and buy a new reproduction P-14 stock. I located at three sources online, and finally decided to get Numrich's Italian-made offering:

I could probably have reused my old handguards, but I figured as long as I was throwing away money, why not go the whole route -- I planned to keep the old stock as a range beater anyway. Total cost was close to 300 bucks.

I was a little apprehensive when the package arrived yesterday -- often replacement stocks require a great deal of fitting and finishing to work properly. I was gobsmacked when I unwrapped a completely inletted, drop-in fitted and finished stock! The only work required was drilling the holes for the buttplate, slightly enlarging the holes for the rear swivel screws and rear band retaining pin, and deepening the countersinks for the cross-bolt reinforcement.

The P-14 is hardly the most handsome rifle, but I'm very pleased how mine looks now:

If we ever have a local 2-gun match, I can use this along with my Webley MkVI and LDV armband and do a Home Guardsman theme.
