Just got done watching Personal Defense TV. I can't believe that there was a segment where Dick Metcalf was interviewing some sergeant from the Quincy ILLINOIS police department about civilian concealed carry. What a bunch of garbage (I'm actually thinking of something else, but am taking the higher road here).

Instead of having an intelligent discussion about J frame revolvers, the discussion should have gone like this: "Sorry , Dick, but my job is to confiscate the concealed handgun of any otherwise law abiding Illinios resident, arrest that person and see they are prosecuted to the full extent of the law. God help that person if they actually USE that J frame in defense of their person or family".

:fire:

Sure the officer may work there and that's his job. But don't persecute the guy for it. Maybe due to some reason he can't move and he's been a cop his whole life so he can't work anywhere else. Maybe the guy really does support your rights just happens to live in a place where the government doesn't agree.

*edit* That would be like us saying since you live in South Florida you must promote illegal aliens from Cuba and drug running.

I guess we can always hope he's one of the guys agitating for change from within "the system."

Personally, I think a few within are likely to be more powerful in advocating change than the many on the outside...

Do I really need to point out that one of the staff members on here has worked in Illinois law enforcement?

Regardless, this thread's not going anywhere constructive.
