The are entertainers and should be regarded as such. I don't hold their opinion on anything in any higher regard than I would Babs Streisand.

On the Christianity issue in particular but also on a couple of comments they made on the environmental show they did, it became apparent to me that they are not at all timid about using misleading and sometimes blatantly erroneous information. Again, they are entertainers. On political issues, I wouldn't give their "evidence" much credence, even if I happen agree with their conclusions.

The main difference being that Penn & Teller freely acknowledge this. I've seen interviews where they've admitted that their show is designed to get a certain point across. You'd be hard pressed to get Mecha-Streisand to make any such admission. Besides, I don't think I've ever seen Penn (or Teller) publically misquote Shakespeare. ;)

Personally, I happen to find their outright bias to be delightfully refreshing at a time when the Dan Rathers and Peter Jennings of the world are still trying to B.S. us about how neutral and unbiased they are.

Wow! That is just an awesome idea! I don't get Showtime, but have the first 2 seasons on DVD. I can't wait until the third is done so I can get it too.

I can agree with some of what's been said about how they pick and choose their facts to prove the angle they want, but yeah, they definitely don't try and hide it. I remember a few times Penn saying things like "Yeah, we are a#$#(#s!" after totally ambushing someone.
 
As far as their "anti-religion" show is concerned you really need to watch it before getting too upset. One of the statements they shared was that belief in God is a matter of FAITH, and that faith doesnt require proof. If a person truly has faith then they should not feel threatened by opposing points of view.

The show was centered on people who attempt to quash views that are not in line with their personal system of beliefs. In other words they were targetting hypocrits who felt that the first ammendment means that their faith should be inflicted upon everyone else.

They did make some comments regarding the bible that would probably upset literal interpreters though.
