Well..

I went to the Pensacola Gunshow yesterday. Almost didn't because of last minute car problems, which I won't really get into, but I will say I've had it with Chevys!

Five bucks admission and no parking fee. So far everything ok. Got into the show and I was amazed. No arts and crafts folks except for the rubber band gun lady. So far so good.

My quest? For a Finnish Nagant. Looked at the entire show and didn't find one except for a kind dealer who let me look at one under his table that he found in his pre-show browsing. Grrrrrr..

So off I went browsing for something. These were the prices.

AR15s Post ban $800-1100. Not too bad depending on config.
1 DPMS FAL $900. I don't think so!
Pre Ban AR15s. 1200 for a cruddy SGW to $2600 for a COLT.
Russian M44s. Aresenal Refinished $119
Mosin 91/30s Arsenal Refinished $139
Excellent Condition Yugo SKS $160. +2 days cleaning time :D
Standard Chicom SKS $250-$400
CETMES $400
Hesse FaLs $600
Kel Tec P32 $250! Standard blued. Are they crazy!
Kelt Tec Sub 2000 $300
SAR1 AKS $370+
Norinco w/thumbhole stock $450

Anyway..that's just a sample. I'm wondering how the prices compare in your areas.

In the show I found one good deal and one Great deal. The good deal I couldn't get. A Bushmaster AR15 complete lower. $315. Ok..Great. I want. Sorry, she's an Alabama dealer and I need an FFL to transfer to me in FL. But..if I go to Alabama I can buy it straight out even if I'm a FL resident. Go figure.

The great deal. Private Sale Norinco SKS. Pre Ban w/bayo. Beautiful metal, slightly scratched wood. No barrel erosion. Bolt and carrier was immaculate. Almost zero hammer wear. Lucky to have a mag full total though it. All serial numbered parts match. $125.00. No papers. :D

Oh..and I picked up a complete Bushy lower anyway from another guy. A little more, but after I figured FFL expense and shipping I'd have been in the same ballpark.

I noticed two appalling prices at a recent show.
1.FEG P9RZ at $450.00! ( i paid $200 for mine NIB)
2.One of those Swiss made "one pro's"at $1100.00! I remember you could get one for $400.00 two years ago NIB.

I'm dead broke now:D

Red, did you use the big hammer to fix your car like I suggested? Maybe the problem.

In a month or so I will trade it in for a van. As bad as I want to take a SLEDGEHAMMER to it, I won't.

There's going to be another show in a couple of weeks. Hopefully they will have something I want there.

Hey..I saw the same thing at the same price. That's crazy!

Ohh..and I looked for the elusive Kahr PM9. No luck yet.

Kel Tec P32 $250! Standard blued. Are they crazy!

I just walked in the door from the FTL show and saw the same. I even saw one for $299!!! Can you believe people would pay prices like that? I guess if they don't know better them screw 'em. These dealers are playing on people's fears and emotions. Right after 911, everything went up...

The gun show out here was this weekend too.

Kahr E9 for $449, I thought it was supposed to be less expensive!
Walther P99 titanium slide for $540. I don't even see them usually...
Glock 17, $545 with the table down from them for I believe $465
The cheapest SKS was a Norinco for $175, most were in the $250 range, sick.
Didn't notice any Nagant rifles.
Kel Tec P11 $239
Kel Tec P32 $225

Not too many deals, though I was only looking for my Makarov mainly, and even that was 170. Less than the other one for 215 though. :)

at a show bout a month ago. very few ppl packing purchases around. customers dumbfounded by prices. overheard a couple of dealers discussing poor sales and whether they should return here. i hope they dont. one of the higher priced tables at that. what a joke some gunshows seemed to have turned into.

bought some powder and primers and left in disgust.

Redlg155,

Where's the gunshow in a couple of weeks? (I'm out of town at the moment, but would like to go if I'm back in time.)

Southern Classic gun shows are the name of the ones that usually put on the shows over in Pensacola, Panama City and Tallahassee area. I think the folks who put on the Dothan show are also going to start doing shows here. They did our last show in PC.

Looks like we have three in the area in the next month or so.

I'm looking for a Finn Mosin Nagant or a Spanish small ring mauser .308 battle rifle at the next show. If you are looking for ammo they have lots of 7.64x54 and Port Surplus .308 at the shows.
