Pete was a good family friend who passed away some time ago. I've since been happy to offer my time to his widow, to research, appraise, clean, repair and eventually sell some of the guns Pete left behind. I thought the knowledge here would be especially helpful in this regard, especially since some of these models are completely unknown to me. I apologize for not cleaning these guns up before I took the pictures.
We'll take it one gun at a time due to the size and amount of these pictures. More than anything though, I wanted to share with this community this collection, be it what it is, as a tribute to a man I had the great opportunity to know.
First up is one of his father's many shotguns. Pete's dad was passionate about wing-shooting and from the looks of the shotguns that he passed down to Pete, I tend to believe that he dallied in trap and/or skeet. We'll get to all that in the upcoming threads though.
This one is a J. Stevens Arms & Tool Co. Model 335 side by side 12 gauge shotgun.
This was obviously a gun that Pete's father used in the hunting fields. In what research I've been able to do, the manufacture date of this shotgun is in the neighborhood of that patent date; 1909-1915 is my guess.
