What a neat old Python. Looks like a 3" tube. Wouldn't it be splendid if Colt were currently producing such a nice .357?

A few months ago I found a guy who had a couple of 3" Python barrels for sale. But he wasn't sure which version they would fit. Seems Colt changed the threads on them somewhere along the way.

I got to fire a 3" python a few years ago. It was SWEET.
While I have always loved the 6" Python, the 4" version just left me cold.
The 3" though was GREAT. It feels and points much better than the 2½".

I wonder if the Colt Custom shop would make a 3"?

I guess that's why I don't buy collector guns. I don't want anyone advising me not to shoot them.

Never understood the allure of a safe queen. Sort of like a beautiful virgin. What's the point?

Bought the gun over the phone as a shooter, and was planning on changing the barrel from three inch to six inch to comply with federal gun Laws in Canada. After finding out the Gun is a very rare and expensive Python with only three hundred made ,It became a safe queen to be passed on to a collector in the USA. Still looking for a shooter.
