I have a question re: PHP hammer safety/decocker function. My instructions show a hammer decocker is to be used with the safety down. In the P-38, one can lower the hammer by lowering the safety. I expected the PHP to function the same way, but it didn't. On my PHP, with the hammer back, I lowered the safety, but the hammer did not fall. Pulling the trigger afterwards, did allow the hammer to fall. It seemed to block the hammer between the firing pin, because raising the safety (to off) caused the hammer to drop next to the firing pin. Is this normal ? Is it safe to carry it loaded with the hammer down (and safety off), for double action ?

I would think it should work like Walther type decocker or that found on S&W metal framed pistols. Lever down brings hammer down back to lever up you're ready for first DA shot. The Makarov is different in that the lever needs to be in down position to fire first DA shot.

I would ask at military handgun section of Gunboard Forums they love Croatian thing there. Many owners plus serial number listing post.

Php-mv9

Shot PHP-MV9 this past week. Had several failures to feed, failure to fire once, and failure to extract.

Tried to get into Gunboards Forum, but couldn't.

Any suggestions, please.:)
