I bought my first 1911 style pistol. A firestorm 45 GOV'T for $275. I love the style of this pistol. I just sold my SKS to start saving up for a RIA 1911 style pistol. I have heard everyone mention the 1911's and why they love them, so I decided to see why. It fits my hand great, it breaks down easily, and there are a ton of parts etc. you can get for it. I think I will stick with 1911's from here on out :D

Is this the NEW Firestorm made in PI or is yours one of the old Llama ones.
Their is a NEW one coming made in PI and like Amscor and Rock will be 1911 campatable.
Any way shoot and enjoy and make room for your about to grow 1911 collection.

Excellent to hear that you're enjoying your new 1911. As you're already seeing they have a tendency to multiply. As Michael T noted the older Firestorm/Llama 1911 style pistols are not quite 1911 spec, but they are compatible with many 1911 parts. With goinng prices under $300 like yours they're a great value of a starter 1911. Take a look at the forums over at www.m1911.org and there should be info which parts are compatible, and which ones can be tweaked by a gunsmith to work. The RIA you're saving for is another excellent 1911 value, and can be easily customized with all those parts you mention. Enjoy the new pistol. :)
