I picked up this EAA Witness in .38 Super yesterday at the gun show. I passed on it at the last show. I drooled a little, but passed. I couldn't do it this time. At $400 (After some bartering) I thought it was a good buy. Dunno, but I do know I was happy to pay it. I field stripped it yesterday and it is like new inside. Cleaned the light fouling from the barrel, lubed everything and reassembled it. The machine work is quite nice.
I took it out today and it is a winner. Very easy to shoot well. Bounced a water bottle around on the 35 yard berm and then shot some plates with it. Even without the aid of 1X glasses to see the sights I shot it very well. Some guns just work for you. I am very excited about this one.
Years ago I had one in .45 ACP (Witness Silver Team), but either sold or traded it for something else. It was a good shooter as well, but pretty big. A bit big for my hands.
This one in .38 Super is staying home.
The stuff on the grip screw is gold paint. Weird.
