I was able to pick up my new FNX-9 today after a week of waiting. Just cleaned it but probably won't get to try it until later this week or next because of weather and work. It's completely ambidextrous except for the takedown lever. It also has different backstrap inserts. Front sight is a big ol' white dot. It's DA/SA with decocker and safety. It can be carried cocked and locked. It's light enough for carry, although I can't in Maryland. I'm hoping it's not too light for target shooting. I like the SA trigger. Fairly smooth and probably about 4#. Can't wait to try try it out. Almost forgot to mention, it's made in the good old U.S. of A.
Here's a few pictures:

thing of beauty man but i heard that lever causes a lot of people discomfort (i.e. rubbing their knuckle)

hope that doesnt happen for you, good luck and nice gun!

Very nice!!!!

My brother had one and it shot very accurately. The only problem I had, and it was with me, was that everytime I fired it, it would always go back to DA. I am right handed and I naturally hold my thumb over the decocker while holding the pistol 2 handed, and everytime I fired it I would decock it. That was how I shot all of my autos.

I didn't care for the one I had for similar reasons. Spare mags are pricey & holster options are slim compared to the more popular firearms.

I have a FNP-9 and last summer picked up a FNX-40. I really like both but prefer the controls on the FNX.

I had a problem with the de-cocker on the FNP-9 getting activated when I shot it so I cut it off on the thumb side. The lever on the other side still works just fine. I don't see it as a problem as I can not conceive of a situation where I would not be able to de-cock with my week hand or bring my thumb from the other side to do it. I'm a 1911 guy so I tend to ride the safety/de-cocker on the FNX with my thumb but have yet to accidently de-cock it.

A very under-rate firearm, IMHO. Shoot the heck out of it and enjoy.

I've had my FNP-9 for a while. Never had any trouble with the decocking lever. Perfectly happy with the controls and love the double-action trigger. Gun shoots well and is very reliable. I have somewhere over 2,000 rounds through mine, so far.

Mine came with three magazines which I think is plenty as I have one pistol and a two-magazine holder. Holsters were a challenge for a while but I can get off-the-shelf and custom-made from a variety of sources these days, including the Shooter's Pack from FNH itself.
