When I did the range portion of the CCW, the instructor told me I was shooting too slowly. Mostly spending too much time setting up my shots within the round. I know the guy, so I told him that I would simply ask the BG to wait for me.:neener:

But seriously, there is plenty of very good and valuable information on this thread. Thank you 444, for the link to the self-training. I printed it off for personal use.

This thread also helps explain what IPDA does. One range I know does it on Thursday nights. Does IPDA accept newbies? My ability is slightly above "This is a gun.":)

That is the whole point of my post. You speed up UNTIL your groups open up past handspan size. As you practice more and your groups again start to shrink, you speed up again to the point your groups begin to open up. You contantly maintain a balance between speed and accuracy: always trying to take both to new levels.
Sorry about that. I quick scanned this thread during my break and missed part of what you were saying. I see that we are on the same page.

Hey tequila the only place you can shoot walmart ammo is in riviera beach. The place is called "Tactical Zone". Email me and I can never get anyone out to the range I plan on going this weekend. My last mag last time out I dumped it at 7 yds shooting as fast as possible (no aiming after the first shot) that was about a ten in group. Well I'm going to the range either Sat. or Sun. so I'll have to pay more attention to the speed part.
