Hello I'm Very new to Reloading I've just slowly started reading and getting my equipment together.

I've seen Plated bullets from berry and rainier and have wondered if the plating is thick enough to prevent Fouling in my stock HK VP40 Polygonal barrel? Also can these platings hold up on say a 165gr Berrys FP?

Thanks in advance!
Craig.

Yes......

I use plated (and coated) in my VP9, HK45, P30L (9mm), HK P2000 (.40 & 357 SIG). I do use heavy plated in the 357S.

Chuck

I have used plated bullets for years in a H&K USP40C. There has never been a problem. The last batch I ordered were the HPCB (heavy plate concave base) from X-treme. Haven't shot any yet but they look very promising.

Thanks Chuck & Captaingyro. Just new and trying to get it right! I really appreciate you two responding to my post.

You're welcome. Just to give you a little more insight, I bought a USP 45 Tactical from a guy not long ago. I think he was disappointed in the accuracy because he was pretty anxious to get rid of it. Prior to buying it I did a quick inspection and noticed that there was enough leading in the polygonal barrel to turn it almost into a smooth bore.

I bought it, cleaned out the lead with Chore Boy, and started shooting plated bullets in it. It shoots like a dream, and the bore stays nice and clean.
