Just had a talk W/ my boss during which he informed me that he had his very own AK that he had souveniered from Viet Nam. As soon as he said it I pointed out that since having a fully automatic AK-47 that had likely been illegally imported was a violation of at least the NFA, he should probably be a little cautious who he shared that information with. Suddenly the AK grew a "welded shut barrel" which was "all the Army told him he had to do to bring it back" at that point our AK was joined by 2 pearl handled star 7MM pistols liberated from " A dead gook"

By this time my bullsheet-O-meter is pegging. :D

Any Nam vets here aware of the Army allowing soldiers to bring home captured enemy weapons?

Yes I'm aware it happens but this guy is waaaaaaaay too dumb to get away W/ it

If he brought it back prior to '68 he could have registered it in the '68 amnesty as either a live gun or as a registered DEWAT. After GCA'68, however, he couldn't have registered it, and to be properly de-milled it would have to be torch cut - plugging the barrel alone is not sufficient.
 
Sounds like you boss would get along really well with Micheal Scott from the office. Did he also used to run with a tough crowd........street fighter types? I bet your boss has beat up black belts before. If you don't watch "The Office" this will mean nothing to you
 
My dad mailed a shotgun back from Germany in 1945. I still hunt with it from time to time. Times have changed.
 
We could bring back AK47's from the Gulf in 91 if the barrels were welded up and the bolts welded in place. I personally worked on some of the guns. I was going to myself but I didn't have room to carry it and kinda lost interest.

You were allowed to bring captured weapons home from Vietnam. Fully auto had to be dewatted. A friend had a PPSH and AK hanging on his living room wall that were dewatted.

SKS, Nagant, Tokarev, Markorov (a real find at the time) could be brought home functional.

I never watch "The Office" and I know exactly what you're talking about.

My Boss:

Has foxes the come sit in the guard shack W/ him ( actual 4 legged foxes not hot women)

Is on call at the local crisis treatment ward because the kids respond so well to him.

Once jap slapped and dragged a 6' 2" 280 pound Autozone manager across the counter at the Autozone (Boss is 5'3" 150 pounds soaking wet) for "disrespecting him" Autozone saw it so much his way that they fired the manager.

Is able to jump the 8' fence around the facility I work at to spy on the night shift gaurds.

Owns an SKS worth 1000.00$ ( still in the original Russian presentation box) that he paid 200.00 $ for.

Routinely has people give him horses

Routinely bags deer in downtown Co. Springs, from his truck.

And has hunted on Tom Selleck's private game preserve ( Selleck's coolies skinned and dressed all the game he shot.)
 
John Kerry claimed to have an SKS trophy in his office until it was suggested that it might be illegal in his state, if I remember correctly. Then he said it was all a misunderstanding.
