Does anyone have any suggestions for some decent polishing media? I've used some Lyman Turbo Tumbler media that I got at Cabelas (It's the "Corncob Green Factory Brass dry media") that works well, except poking the pieces of media out of the flash holes is a pain. Prior to that, I had picked up some "Walnut Polishing media" at Grafs. It's untreated and dry. I like the consistency (Don't have to worry about media stuck in the flash holes), but it's dusty as all heck; I've tried some Frankford Aresenal polish and some Dillon brass polish that you dump in while it's running and let run for a bit; niether worked. After treating a batch with the Dillon polish, I let it run for a loooong time to work it in, to the point where there where no clumps that I could see even after stirring through it. The brass I put in after that came out coated with the same dust residue, almost like it (the brass) had been thrown into a bag of flour and shaken (except for the color, of course). So, does anyone know of a good fine walnut media that's treated and isn't dusty?

I've always picked this corn cob up at gun shows. Now would like to get some at grainger if they still have it available, so what size grit should I get/order?
I used the corn cob stuff for years,and everytime I get my cases out,I had to push the corn out with a punch,
UNTIII some of the guys on here, turned me onto the pet store lizzard bedding (cruched walnut) I bought mine from petco.10 bucks,No more flash holes pluged,no more pushing it out.I do add a few drop of car polish to it,
And it works great,I'll never go back to the corn cob stuff,,

Zilla walnut lizard bedding at PetSmart, plus NuFinish car wax. After I use up a bottle of NuFinish in the entire sack of walnut, from then on I just add a thimble full of mineral spirits to the running tumble when I put a load in if the walnut starts to get dusty. Brass is shiny, clean, and purdy!
I use the Grainger corn cob (50Lb bag) and pet store walnut shell mixed together (60% Corncob / 40% Crushed walnut).
I add a couple of capfuls of Nu Finish and a capful of mineral spirits.
This will clean a 2k - 3k pcs of brass to a bright shiny bling. Add another capful of the Nu Finish after 2K of brass. I add a little minieral spirits every so often as well. I change out the media after 6K of brass although i could probably get more cleaning out of it.
* I add a dryer sheet (cut into 6 pcs) everytime I add brass and this will cut down the dust and keep the media cleaner longer.
This works for me anyhow.

Why hello 357SigFan...How ya doin'? You already know what I use so I'll just say hi and back out...
I just did some more checking. It looks like they are phasing out the old packaging, but will have it in 40 pound bags. Good news.
If they order it for you, they will not charge shipping if you pick it up at the store. It looks like the same stuff some folks sell at the gun shows in smaller pricier quantities.
14/20 grit - Fine
