How many people have had to reload in a situation? LEOs not included:D

I dont carry extra mags, but many of you do.

Options to consider for such a poll might be...
Never in a situation.
Handgun remained concealed.
Handgun drawn, but not fired.
Fired less than capacity.
Emptied without reload.
Emptied and reloaded, but not fired further.
Emptied, reloaded, and fired.
Reloaded more than once.

Other???

I don't carry the spare mag so much for the extra bullets as I do for the off-chance that the gun fails and immediate action doesn't fix it. I've found that the magazine is the most common component to fail in an autoloader.

Carrying a reload is a good idea because inevitably the day will come when you walk outside and, miles and miles from the nearest Wal-Mart, you'll realize your magazine is sitting on your table right next to the recently used bottle of Hoppes.

I just simply wanted to know if someone has had to reload:)

I'm betting no, but thats the reason for this poll.

Oops... I think I posted before you could get your poll up. I see where you're headed now.

I have never had to use my gun in a defense situation. I always carry extra ammo and a backup gun but, I get the dumb ass of the day award. I switched snubs 2 Days ago. Today I took it out of the holster and found I had unloaded it. I have been walking around for 2 days with an empty gun. My backup was loaded and I had 2 speed loaders. The worst part is I worked my part time job at a Gun Shop yesterday. From now on I swearer to all that read this, I will flip out the cylinder and check my carry guns. Thats what I get for rotating 4 different 357 main carry guns and 2 38s as backups. Boy have I learned a lesson and I am glad it was not the hard way.

Haywood that is pretty darn funny.Usually when I arm or disarm I will check the status of the gun. I don;t have as many carries as you but on my revolver I will swing the cylinder and on my auto usually drop the mag and clear the chamber before returning them to battery. Also on my auto I will check the top round to make sure it isn't set back from being chambered more than once, and will sometimes swap a lower round in the mag for the top one if I feel a need. My dads 1911 I used to carry had a bad habit of deep seating the top round after more than one chambering so thats how I got that habit...

Had a clinton magazine blow the bottom out, when a intercity youth (that was just turning his life around) brought a knife to a gun fight.Tried to rob me. So I make sure that I have at least 1 reload.
