I had read about current colt pistols having recoil spring tunnels cut off center but dismissed those as rarities and assured myself that Colt produces great pistols and maybe they let one or two slip out, but for the most part their stuff is top quality.
Well I was inspecting a WWI reproduction 1911 that I had considered buying. I noticed that the recoil spring tunnel (cut in the slide where the barrel and recoil spring ride) was cut off center. And I mean WAY off center. There was twice as much material on the ejection port side as there was on the other side. Some people say this a just cosmetic and I am being picky, but if you pay for a WWI repro (1 of 4000, right?) you want it to be the way it is supposed to.
Bottom Line: How many of you have actually seen colt pistols with this problem?
