I Just saw this post on a Internet site where people in my local area post items for sale should i send this person a polite e-mail saying they are wrong or just leave it alone mind you in AZ FTF Sales Require 18yrs of age As Most States do the ads on this site are for FTF deals he got some of the law right but is mis-stating it???

Know the LAWS!! Know the AGE limits for Firearms Transactions!! OR this site could be closed down!!!

PEOPLE! KNOW THE LAWS. YOU ARE PUTTING THIS SITE AND YOURSELF IN JEAOPARDY! FEDERAL LAW STATES " 21YEARS OR OLDER TO OWN A HANDGUN" AND "18 OR OLDER TO OWN A LONG GUN". AZ state law doesn't define private sales so you fall back to the Fed code.

here was my reply:

One should know the laws before stating incorrect interpretations to others.

It is illegal for licensed dealers to transfer a handgun to persons under the age of 21 or shotguns and rifles to persons under the age of 18. 18USC CH44 Sec922(b)(1)

It is illegal for an individual (non FFL) to sell a juvenile. 18USC CH44 Sec922(x)

A "juvenile" as defined in 18USC CH44 Sec922(x)(5) is a person under the age of 18.

So to summarize; a FFL cannot sell a handgun to a person under 21. An individual cannot sell a handgun to a person under the age of 18. Neither can sell a rifle or shotgun to persons under the age of 18. (we can get into parental consent but I think you catch my drift)

listens to you deserves what they get. Call the local ATF office, Read the

dont be dumb, az law says no handguns or handgun ammunition is allowed to be
purchased by minors under 21. this is to keep kids from buying concealable
weapons and bringing them into places their not supposed to, ie schools, banks,
malls, hospitals and doing stupid things.

again dont be dumb. it will save your life. leave the adult things for adults.
