The price of Prvi Partizan and Silver Bear HP ammo is just about as cheap as FMJ. Has anyone tried this in 9mm Luger or put it through a chrono?
I've tried about 200 rounds of the JHP Silver Bear in 9mm Mak in my P-64. I was not entirely impressed. It looks like they just drill out the end of the ordinary FMJ and I had one FTF, whereas I have not had any firing thousands of rounds of FMJ. Given the lower reliability and lack of kinetic energy with the makarov round I think I would prefer to go with FMJ in my p64.
However, I am intrigued by the aforementioned offerings in 9mm Luger. If they are reliable and the velocity out of a glock 19 is around 1200 fps I would think really hard about carrying and practicing with the same ammo. I tend to think, without any factual data to back it up, that Euro ammo, Prvi/serbian especially is hotter than standard American loadings.
