All,
I just wanted to let everyone know that for the last few days I have been in Maastricht, Netherlands (about 2 hours away) providing security for President Bush, and Air Force One (his plane). I led the Aircraft security team during his stay and susequent visit to the cemetery nearby. I was able to get some very good pictures of GW and his convoy. We were able to walk within 50 feet of President Bush. I coordinated much of the security for our portion with the Secret Service, U.S. Embassy personnel, and the Air Force One Security Detail Sergeant.
When we finished up they gave me an Air Force One Challenge Coin, a picture of the plane, a narrative on the aircraft, a package of Presidential Jelly Beans and a match book from Air Force One.
Maastricht is a beautiful city and I will probably end up going back and visiting again soon. The people in the Netherlands (for the most part) like Americans and most speak fluent English. This made the stay there very nice.
