I was at the gun show in Berea, OH, today, and a guy had an East German Makarov for sale for $385. It had one or two magazines. To me, it looked like it was on very good condition. I didn't see any signifcant wear on the exterior. I didn't think to make a note of the serial number to date it. I might have been able to work his price down to $350.

Can anyone give me the going rate on these? I have two Bulgarian Makarov's already, and they are shooters. This one was pretty, but I know it wouldn't stay that way if I start blasting the crap out of it. Seem's silly to spend $350 on a 9x18 when I can get a CZ75 9x19 in the same condition for the almost the same price.

TIA, jmm

$350 seems a bit steep for an EG Makarov, but I guess they're rare nowadays. I paid less than $200 for my EG a few years ago when they were available. I would spend my money on something else unless you're a Mak collector and must absolutely have it.

While $350 is about the market price these days, if you are patient and look around, you will find them under $300.

i bought mine last year for 100.00

but those deals do not come around everyday. she is a ruko import john 3:16 marked with some finish wear, now before anyone crucifys me for this ... i bought it from an old man who said if he could'nt buy the ammo at walmart he didn't want it around and told me i could just have it but i could not do that to him he is a good friend p.s. he also sold me a high standard .22 in nickel pretty gun for 60.00 he doesnt like .22's either :D

My EG was $189 5 years ago. I bought it at the urging of a friend who was a big fan of Maks. Very nice gun. I think $350 would probably be top end for a pristine example, over that is just too much.
