Price Check - S&W 340 38 Special +P

I need a price check on a Smith & Wesson 340 chambered for 38 special, barrels says 38 special +p. This is one of the air-lite series, and is pre-lock. The finish is silver (natural aluminum?). Cylinder and barrel shroud are titanium.

The gun appears to be in good shape mechanically, but the finish is well worn. It is fairly ugly because the majority of the clear-coat that S&W put on it has worn off, thus the finish is yellowish in places. The gun was carried as a CCW for 4 years.

Any estiamtes on what a fair price would be?

That's a 342 rather than a 340; using the correct model number will enable you to search gunsale sites like gunsamerica, gunbroker, auctionarms etc. to see what they're going for (just insert a .com after each).

I seem to recall another poster with what he claimed was a 38 cal 340. I would ask on smith-wessonforums.com.

I would check under the yoke, where he model number is imprinted.

I'd be interested to know if there was such a thing as a .38 340.
