What is a good price on a Beretta Cougar? I got one done by me going for $404 (431 with tax). It is an 8000 F in 9mm with two high cap le mags and fairly dim night sights. The gun showed a good amount of wear but no scratches. I think it was probably carried by an officer but they didn't know for sure. It asked a couple of people there and apparently nobody knew much about its history. I was interested in getting a Cougar and this is only 50 more than what I've seen stoegers going for around here.
ps I already put it on layaway I just wanted to know if it was a good price.

I picked up my 8040F for $350 a few years back. Here's a range report.

I'd call $431 for one showing wear a bit high, even though it has night sights and is in 9mm. The pistol is worth that, mind you. It's a good gun. It's just that they seem to be selling a bit cheaper in like new condition.

Ya but its got the Hicaps otherwise I would have ordered a stoeger in. New hicap cougar mags are 40$ unless you get promags, but I only get quality pistol mags and don't play around with mag crapshoots. The wear looks mostly like holster wear from being carried. I probably should have found one online. I don't think it's an unfair price just not a great one. I am definitely going to respring it and get one more hicap mag for a total of 3 mags. I think the price on beretta cougars went up when the stoegers came out.

Too much I think. Shop next to me has the cx4 for $420 new, and a few used cougars ranging from $320 for decent condition to $360 for like new.

Maybe a tad high for the 9mm Cougar, but I'd pay that in a heartbeat for a .45, they're like hens teeth around here.

The store I bought it from sells just guns and gun accessories with their own indoor range. They actually wanted 450 for it, but they had a ten year anniversary sale. I think that I will buy used guns from either ksl.com (in the classifieds) or from a pawn shop where I can talk them down a little easier from now on.
