Finally finished up some testing......
I didn't keep any decent records, so don't take this as gospel, or as a serious test.

Test supplies
-Winchester primers
-44Spcls, 5.0gr W231, Starline brass, Winchester Primers, 240gr LRN bullets
-Speer plastic cases w/plastic bullets
-WD-40
-CLP
-MEK
-S&W 629

Primers and oil or solvents
I soaked 20 Winchester primers in each of the solvents. Meant to soak them for 3 and 7 days, forget about then and they all soaked for 12 days. I fired them in speer plastic cases

MEK-killed 10 primers, just for grins I let 10 dry out for a two weeks, after drying they all worked.

WD-40-Killed 8 2 worked, after two weeks 6 of them worked, 3 were duds, one appeared to have no priming compound. I didn't inspect the primers prior to the test so it could have been a dud.

CLP-killed 3, 7 worked, after two weeks. After two weeks they all worked.

Lesson oil/solvent won't necessarily kill primers, but it might. Once they dry out, inspect and they should be okay.

Live rounds-
I soaked 12 of each in the solvents for 12 days.

WD-40, first round squib, primer fired, powder didn't ignite.
Powder was wet.

I had an epiphany at this point, if oil/solvents can get in the case and kill a primer, it will definitely get in the case and ruin the powder.

I pulled the rest of the bullets, all were filled oil or MEK.

Lessons, if your worried about oil killing a primer in a loaded round, you should be more concerned about oil soaking the powder.

Oil or solvent may or may not kill primers, don't expect it to work out one way or another. Keep your primers clean and dry.

If your going to kill primers by soaking them in oil, once they dry out they're not dead.

It's not an all-inclusive or formal test.
