Parts list is fine.... but by the time you add labor to a gunsmith to assemble/test/tweak......... you'll find it is about the same as buying one already built from the factory. Check out Dawson Precision for some good 'off the shelf' Limited setups......

Hope that helps!

Swap it out to a Clark/Para ramp, it is stronger. No cost included for finishing, figure $150 for a good blue job or $225 for hard chrome. Get all the slide lightening you can, it is legal limited and it does make a differene.

Best bet yet is to call Benny Hill at Triangle Shooting Sports and have him build a full on custom gun. Benny builds guns that RUN, his guns have great resale value, and it is done right with no need to fiddle and tune etc.

ETA, if he doesn't like dumping his gun in the dirt pony up another $20 for a CR Speed WSM holster instead of the 012.

I was not going to reply but cant help to notice that "your" friend is better off buying a "tuned" edge from either Dawson or Brazos. He can use the money saved for a reloader (two is great..no cal change) or a glock:neener:
How long has he been competing?
Anyway to answer your question...yes the "part" list is fine but......

thanks

my friend has shot IDPA for a year or two? He likes it as a way to gauge himself, and to try and improve.

I believe he wants to assemble it himself. I liked the Brazos personally, but he didn't seem to keen on that idea. Thanks for all the reply's, I have printed off the responses for him.

If I have read the IDPA rules correctly, there are several things on that list that would make the pistol illegal for IDPA. He might want to run that list past someone who is better versed in the rules.

Well, he SAID it was for USPSA. Presumably the friend is well enough fixed to afford a dedicated IDPA gun. This one would not pass, IDPA doesn't allow bull barrels longer than 4.2". I think building it himself will be a major challenge, it is not just a matter of assembling parts out of the boxes.
