1. Do these work well for long term gun storage? (2 years)

2. In hot and humid climate, could I store guns in a non-airconditioned shed using these bags...and not have rust? I thought about having a "spare" shot gun (or a spare Glock handgun) in the shed... but was concerned with the fluctuating temperature (60 degrees in the morning and 100 degrees in hot afternoon?)

Do they work as good as they claim?

Any reasonably well sealed container, a coating of RIG, and some silica gel desiccant inside should be fine about anywhere.


Temperature only really matters in two ways -- rapid changes can cause condensation, high temperatures increase the rate of corrosion. Lots of stuff is stored outside in the Mojave desert heat unprotected because there is so little moisture.

Cosmoline is the proven long term protecterant, but your gun is unusable until it is cleaned up.
