Being ever curious, are there any firearms companies that are traded publicly? My brief survey of U.S. companies seems to indicate that they are all privately-owned. Has this always been the case, and are things different with European gun manufacturers?
Bringing a company public is a good way of raising R&D capital, and domestic innovation in firearms has been kinda dismal since Eugene Stoner. All the cool toys are made in Germany these days.
