I just got to thinking that I might like to invest in some gun companies.
I know Ruger and S&W are traded, RGR and SWB.
Anybody have a list of public companies and symbols?
Thanks

PS To counter those "socially conscious" mutual funds, maybe someone should make a BATF fund, invested in nothing but alcohol, tobacco and firearms (and explosives).

Rumpled,

I also looked into this, was thinking about investing to show my support, primarliy SWH. I tracked their performance over the past 2 years with changes in mgmt, being sold and re sold, seemed like a different president every 3 months. First they added an accessories line, then they dropped it. They had a very small dividend, were heavily encumbered, and didn't follow market trends that I thought they should. I figured if I invested it would just be for a show of support as I didn't feel the were going anywhere finanacially. Only other one I know of that is related in OLN, i.e. Olin, the holding company for Winchester ammunition, not USRAC that makes the guns.

I looked a bit more and haven't found much.
I'd like to support good gun companies, more out of moral support than true likely good fiscal investment.
Apparently, firearms are really a small industry. Ruger happens to be one of the biggest, and only has something like 700 employees from what I've found.
Many small companies and many owned by other entities, mostly privately held - though I'm still looking.
PS I'm now a Ruger stockholder, though I'm conflicted - I own five Ruger firearms, though I don't like their current 2A status - see my next post.
