I've got an itch for a lever gun, probably won't pick one up till May (when i get my next rifle, seven hundred cash is already there but I make it a point to limit myself to two guns a year unless I build them).

I don't want anymore AKs, I'm waiting to see if I'll ever do an AR build but I can't find love for the .223 caliber, and I already own a CETME(might get another one but I don't feel a want for a FAL because of it), and I don't want to start down the whole Garand alley because the ammo is isanely high.

But I have wanted a lever action rifle for a long time. I originally thought of a .30/30 but since my reloading kit is due to arrive any day now and I'm interested in getting a .454 Casull handgun or .460 S&W in the future I figure the lever action would be a nice addition.

My only questions are: Can you shoot .45LC out of it and maybe get more capacity than just the 10+1 .454 capacity, is Puma a good product, and is this a rifle I can expect to get some mileage out of If I'm only putting twenty or thirty rounds through it a month. Also does anyone know where I can find performance reviews for fps, using a handgun round meant for 7.5" barrel that is supposed to do 1800fps ought to be quite interesting out of a 20" barrel.

dunno about the 454 but i have the puma and taurus raging bull 8" in 480 ruger. if you search the handloading forum for my posts you'll probably find my chrono results out of the handgun and rifle. it's been several years though. i might have a few old posts in the rifle country as well
