Python sold quick !

I put an 8" 1979 walnut gripped mirror Nickel unfired NIB .357 Python on consignment last week telling them I wanted $1600 to me firm. The factory oil was congealing in my safe It sold for $1850 before it went on display ($250 stores cut). I was in it $900 from 1995. More than I would have made in a bond or interest bearing account, other than PLAYING the market. I used the money to buy a cherry newly painted, topped and upholstered MG Midget from an estate sale for $1500. Will make a great run around the village ride for wife and I, we only have Jeeps and big Pick ups so this will be fun! Python for MG

I can say...for sure...I could NOT own a pistol and not shoot it! Never happen. Great gun...great sale! Cool car, too.

His posting makes me sick when I think back....About 1995 I was offered a new in the box Python for $400. I turned it down because I already had a Colt in .357. at the time, I didn't see why a man needed another one. Heck, back then 400 bucks was about what my house payment was.

Not bad. I just sold a Walther P5 compact on gunbroker in less than 12 minutes. I could have asked more, but I made a decent profit (found the gun at a gunshow). No need to be greedy.

Yup, that's right. Not museum pieces like the English doubles or a Fox shotgun, but good high quality revolvers will bring a better return than gold or silver. Best commodity right now

Gold's been WAYYYYY better. From 1999 to now it's jumped from 257 to 1475. I dumped a decent amount of gold lately into some guns, and traded some of those for some others, but not because the guns will be a better investment.

I agree gold IS better. I am in to Silver, I quit buying bags of junk silver coins at $11 oz and started at $7oz. It is almost $40 oz !
Course you can't SHOOT silver or protect it without guns in interesting times!

That is sickening... Back about 1975 or 76, I acquired an unfired 6" Python, in a Walnut Presentation Box that was a signed "Don Tedford" Model out of Colts Custom Shop... I hung onto it for about a year and let myself get talked into a trade... I have NO Idea what that gun would be worth today...
