Hi,

I was given a brown US Arm leather holster for a 1911 and a web belt with a steel buckle.
It is marked :
CLINTON
1 8
F.W.T.

Can anyone give me an idea what I have here, regarding time period and value? I want to pass this gift on to one of my sons.

The holster is an M-1916 type and was made in 1918 by the Clinton Saddlery Co., Clinton, Iowa.
The F.W.T. stamp is the on-site govenment inspector who passed it.

The belt is a Vietnam era M-1956 cotton belt.
They were standard until 1967 when a new nylon belt design with a Quick-Release "Davis" buckle came along in the M-1967 belt.

THe holster is in remarkable condition for being 90 years old!

I imagine it would have a value of around $100 or more to folks who collect stuff like that.

RC,

thanks a lot for the fast reply and info given! The holster is indeed in very good condition for its age and I will take good care of it.
