Question about Fiber Optic sights?

I am in the market for replacement Fiber Optic sights for a few of my pistols. They will be daytime shooters, so I don't really need night sights. I would like to know if anyone has had experience with Fire Sights Brand by The Williams gun sight company.

Thanks

I've got a hooded firesight with peep rears on a Ruger MKII and my wife's Rem. M-141. They're well made and all steel, no plastic fiberoptic bands. I think they're great, but the intense glow might make them look a bit coarse due to the halo effect, though still no larger than the average white dot on the average sight blade. You certainly won't miss 'em, even on an overcast day...

I have the Williams sights on a Ruger Markll. I like the fiber optics just fine, but the adjustments for elevation kept shooting loose. I finally set them for 20yds. and blue locktighted them. End of problem.;)

I prefer only the fiber optic in front with the stock plain black rear notch (I paint any dots or bars on the rear sight black). I think they are great for these old eyeballs. I find the inserts at the rear too distracting, you ned to focus on the front sight.

I wonder why fiber optic sight makers don't make a ring around the optic like they do on Tritium dots. It seems to me that the halo effect would be nulled somewhat.

I have the Dawson fiber optic front sight on my Sig P229 and don't like it.
First off, let me qualify why. I have bad eyesight for distance and reading and thought the fiber optic would help. It didn't. It's too small. Since I need glasses only for reading or a different set for driving, I don't wear regularly.
If a real life situation were to occur, I wouldn't have time to put on glasses, so I practice without using them. Naturally a large and or bright sight would help, but the fiber optic failed my needs.
