Thinking about picking one of these up for CCW. I like the Straight Eight Heinie sights on the Pro version. But if I buy it for CCW I will want to put night sights on it. I've been researching this pistol and have heard that it is hard to put night sights on it. Are night sights easy to install for this pistol? Any members here have this gun and if so what type of sights have you installed? I went to Heinie's website but they don't list any sights for the Taurus. Thanks.:)

As far as I know there are currently no night sights for the latest PT-145 (SA/DA Heinie sights), though I have heard rumors of upcoming ones in the future.

Mine appears to have Heinie's standard dovetail dimensions, so his tritium straight 8s should fit OK.

Is yours a third generation? If so that's good to hear, I guess I'll try to call Heinie tomorrow and see what they say. I really liked the gun I looked at and have read lot's of good things about these little pocket cannons. Don't know if I'll buy one though if I can't install the night sights on it.

Heinie makes them, but under a proprietary agreement with Taurus. That is,ONLY Taurus sells them...That's why they don't show up on the Heinie website...Call Taurus,or just have a gunsmith either find a set that match the Taurus dovetail,or machine your Taurus to fit another sight...

Yes they pay Heinie for the name but these are regular white dot sights, I want the tritium insert sights. Anyhoo, I called Heinie today and they said they don't offer anything yet but plan on having a set available in a month!:) Couldn't put off that new gun urge any longer so I went and got one. After a little bit of a fiasco getting the gun I have one now in my possession. This thing has some great basic qualities about it: Relatively small so it should carry great, pretty good fit and finish, even for being small the grip fits my hand very well, much better than a Block, er I meant Glock:p , the SA/DA action is nice and the trigger ain't bad at all for a pistol like this, and best of all....this little sucker holds 11 rounds of .45acp!:what: Can't wait to put a few hundred rounds through this thing, if it turns out to be reliable then Taurus has one awesome little gun on their hands.

didnt want to let this one die. I hate the heinie sights. I love there explanation on the heinie web site if you are shooting low: user error
that said I am looking for sights to put on pt145 mil pro. hopefully night sites
