I am wondering if any distributers are offering a Romak-3/PSL without a scope right now. If so, how much. I'd prefer to buy one for less, and put a different optic than the East Bloc scope that's coming with them nowadays.

The PSL isn't an RPK.
The RPK is the SAW version of the AKM. It is chambered in 7.62x39 and uses any AK magazine (40s and drums were made for RPK use)
The PSL is a semiautomatic-only Kalashnikov design chambered in 7.62x54r. 10 round magazines are all there are for it.

You are correct, I made an error in how I put that. What I meant to say was just Romak-3/PSL. I'm wondering if one can get a PSL/Romak-3 with no scope.
I'm looking for the Romanian SDM, Sniper rifle but I'd like to add my own optic later.

It really doesn't change the cost much. They're produced and sold originally with scopes, and the original 4x scopes are very durable so it's rare that they're damaged or lost by American owners. Honestly, the rifle itself is worth the $750, even if you rescope it.
