Do XDs use polygonal rifling or standard cut rifling? Reason I ask is I just thought of this, but my son-in-law has an XD 40, is getting into casting, and I know the polygonal barrels are a no no with cast bullets, one reason I don't own a Glock. I know XDs aren't Glocks. Just hoping the look is just skin deep on 'em. LOL

XD

To the best of my knowledge they have conventional rifling. I only own one, and XD9SC. I haven't handled or inspected other calibers in this make. You could always go to their website and check out the specs.

They are cut rifling. I shoot cast bullets in my XD's in the following calibers: 9x19, .40 S&W, 357 Sig and .45 acp. Your son-in-law will be fine shooting cast bullets through his .40 S&W XD.

Hope this helps.

Fred
