I think I posted in my intro that I had a (handme down) Remington 7600 in .30-06 Springfield.

Tonight my dad came by the house and I was telling him I might try and get out to a range this weekend if it not too cold... I might take Grandpa's old .30-06... With that he reminded me that if I bought any ammo for it, it has to be Winchester .30-06 Springfield????

I said, why is that, he said well it always jams up with anything else, Winchester probably made it that way, so you'd only shoot their ammo...

Me  I said, dad, its a Remington... We debated it for a few and I broke it out of the safe and it is indeed a Remington 7600... Pump style I guess you call it... Its not a Bolt action....

He said, well I am not sure, but every time we shot Remington or anything else but winchester in it, the spent round would swell up in the chamber and could not be ejected, by racking it... You have shove a cleaning rod down the barrel and poke the shell casing out.... Put Winchesters in and it shoots fine every time...

I can't argue as the few times I fired it, we used Winchester ammo...

What give with that? Any input, any of you see anything similar???
