Hi Y'all
I am thinking of ordering some of the 15 round ones and a few of the 30 round ones. Anyone bought and used them? Good? Bad?

Do the 30 rounders have the little M2 nub to hold the mag steady on them like the orginals?

Who has the best deal on these mags?

Thanks
WB

I have used both 15rd and 30rd Korean mags in my Inland carbine. They both work great.
The 30rd is probably the best 30rd mag you can buy short of the rare USGI mags. Yes, they do have the extra left side nub.

Some say yes, some say no. ALL 30 round mags will FIT in all rifles (with or without the M2 mag catch) but some say the 30 rounders work better on rifles with the M2 mag catch.

I have one rifle of each type and the 30 round korean mags have worked flawlessly for me in both.

I've actually had some feeding issues with GI 15 round mags but none with the Korean ones.

CDNN has good prices on them generally, and AIM surplus sometimes has them IIRC.

Do you need an M2 mag catch to reliably use 30 rounders?

I had one I used without the catch and the extra weight sheared the two catches that existed. This was years ago with a commercial magazine which I replaced with a different brand.
I would install the M-2 catch if you ever plan to use 30 rnd mags. It won't bother the 15 rnders at all and even if you only use one 30 rounder only once a year, it will be there.
It does help.

I have 2 USGS (15-rd) mags and they seem identical to the many Korean-made 15-rd I have. I also have 4 30-rd Korean-made mags and they all seem about the same. Wait, when I got my new to me AO M1 carbine it came with nine 15-rd mags, one was very messed up (spring) and I simply tossed it, having 8 others.

I greatly prefer shooting with the 15-rd mags, as the 30-rd mags seem to throw off the weight and balance of the delightfuly short and "pointable" carbines.

At first, I used the 30rd mag in my Inland with the standard M1 mag catch...no problems.
But, I found a USGI M2 catch at the gun show pretty cheap, so I put it on, just for the heck of it. Again, no problems.
I too largely prefer the 15 round mags, but I do have four of the 30's....because I can, LOL.
