Hello Everyone,
I just purchased a new 18.5" parkerized barrel for my 870P with a bead sight and fixed modified choke. Until now I've only used the original rifled barrel that came with the gun, which had no choke.
I'm wondering 3 things:
1. Can anyone give me some advice on how to sight using the bead? Everything I've read says a good "cheek" weld is required to use a bead. Other than that, should your line of sight go straight down the receiver and barrel to the bead, or do people raise their eye up a little higher than that?
2. How do I clean a barrel with a fixed modified choke? Will the stiff bristles on my normal cleaner hurt anything?
3. While screwing on my Scattergun Tech 2-shot mag extension, the "U" piece that is supposed to cradle the barrel, has already put tiny marks into the barrel's parkerization. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to prevent this while screwing the extension on? It's a shame to nick up a new barrel like this!
Thanks all!
