Recently traded a Cimarron Uberti revolver for a Belgian Browning A-5.
The gun is in great condition for being a 1958 manufacture. I took it apart the other day just to have a look at it, and found that the barrel Serial number does not match the reciever serial number. I tryed to look into this but nothing really came up. It doesn't seem right to me, but shotguns don't seem like Mausers or War relics where matching numbers is a big deal, but I could be wrong.

So did I get ripped off here or is it common for 50's Belgian A-5 Serial numbers to not match up?

P.S. The barrel shows the same amount of wear as the rest of the gun. It doesn't look like a replacement/substitute at all. I will try to get a picture up in a little while

During the 1950's the practice of matching numbers passed. Receivers and barrels were made independently and matched to fill orders. If the gun is unaltered I'd say you made a good deal.

Are you familiar with their choke code?

Yup, its original for sure! I believe it would be a Full Choke because there is only 1 star or * in front of "special steel". There are so many markings on this gun! By the way its also a Standadard Weight, as signified by the 8M on the reciever.
