I had to watch the guy in slow motion. It appears to me that he is indeed releasing one magazine and loading another. Had to share with the rest of you after watching it again!

Yes, there is a second magazine. On the side view(s) you can see it clearly on his belt before the magazine drop.

The video, itself, shows the action at normal, 1/2, and 1/4 speed. It isn't obvious from the very first part that a magazine drops (dark mag, dark shirt), but turn up the brightness/contrast on Ye Old Particle Accelerator (monitor) and it becomes plain as day.

Admittedly, he has a very special magazine "holster"; not something you can pass off as CCW-wear, I'd imagine.
