I have a Kimber Team Match II and want to order some Wilson Combat springs. Do I order the government or commander version for my Kimber TM II?

Cool thanks. If this means anything, I am shooting 5.5 gr of 231 and a MBC 200 SWC. What advantage would I have by going to an 18.5 lb spring?

I was planning on ordering a Wilson oversized mag release and slide release and a Wilson recoil buffer kit.

None that I can think of. Unless you are shooting a high PF, which your load doesn't sound like, the 16# should do just fine.

I would also skip the buffers. You won't be able to slingshot the slide with those in a Kimber.

I use Wolff springs in all my 1911's. I usually keep a spare or two on hand; they're popular and I've seen them stockout at MidwayUSA quite a bit when I place an order. I go through about 4 a year.

If you're new to 1911s, this is a great little guide for you to own -

"Wilson Combat 1911 Auto Maintenance Manual" Book by Bill Wilson

It'll take you through detail disassembly and re-assembly with some nice illustrations, maintenance, and spring replacement schedules. Think of it as a something you'd give a teenage daughter who spent no time with you in the family garage to help them maintain a new car. Here's how to tell when tires need replaced . . . change your oil every 3,000 miles . . . etc.

Great little book. Midway sells those springs, too.

I run the 18.5 pound spring in my fullsize Kimber and a 16 in my DW. Get one of each and try them.
Do you shoot a 200 gr. SWC like the OP?

18.5 might be a bit heavy for his load.
