Rafter S leather

Hey All.................

About 2 weeks ago or so I wrote a thread about finally getting my VM-2 from Milt Sparks. Well, today........more wonderful news: I went to the post office to pick up a box with my Rafter S black cowhide leather belt and matching double mag pouch. :biglaugh:

Oh my..........they are beautiful. Real works of art. They nearly perfectly match the look of my VM-2 as well.

I read from other guys who have a similar rig that the belt and the VM-2 are sometimes not so compatible in 1.5" size. I ran into the same problem. It's really hard to get the holster snaps to snap and stay snapped over top of the Rafter S belt. But........no biggie. I got it working and just need to keep breaking them in together and everything will mesh.

Sorry about not having any pics. I'll get pics of the entire rig now that it's complete. It's quite nice and I'm very pleased. The belt makes a huge difference in holding up my 1911 and my comfort. I'll get some mileage on this rig and give a full report.

So far..........the VM-2 has been seeing some full-time service and I have no complaints yet.

I"ve got the Rafter 1.5 sharkskin/cowhide belt. It took a couple weeks of threading and wearing to get my VM2's to just be able to snap on. It should break in just fine.

I also have one of their IWB holsters, decent holster, but has a tendency to dig in my hip a bit.

So far it seems that they have good products at a good price.

I also owned a Rafter S elephant belt. I never got my Sparks leather to fit around that belt!
