I have a rail attachment that slides over the magazine tube and is held in place by the magazine tube but. It has a small picatinny rail that extends from the side that I attach a light to.

I have had this piece a long time, don’t know who made it, and can’t find anything like it now.

Is anyone familiar with what I am talking about or have an alternative way to add a bit of rail to a shotgun mag tube for a light?

When you first install, be careful with those. We had some 870's with a similar rail added at the end of the fore end like those. If one was tall and handled the fore arm out near the end it was pretty darn easy to painfully catch a fingernail or cut a finger on the edge when briskly racking the fore end :what:.

Other than those minor risks, adding a light to an 870 without having to buy the pricy flashlight-embedded dedicated fore end is a good idea.

Stay safe.

Any reason why this won't work on a Mossberg 500 or 590? Tube diameter should be the same as on an 870.

Now I see why I didn't find it. I put Surefire in the search box instead of Streamlight. Memory ain't what it used to be I guess.

The one in my link will work on the 500 or the 590. The one Balrog linked to will not work on the 500 with the small diameter captive barrel retention bolt. It will work on the 590 as they have the cap that treads on the mag tube.
