I bought a box of Rainier 45 cal 230 rn from Cableas . after loading them all up found that I only had 450 instead of 500 . Sent them a email just too let them know that there scale might be off. Received a box in the mail today of 500 45 cal 230rn a very good Company did not expect this !!! I did not even care that the box was light I know that it can happen.I will buy from them again!!!

That's good to hear. Especially since I did the same as you and bought a box of Rainier from Cabela's a few days ago (but it will take a while to use them up).

I'm curious...do you load in groups of 50? Did you load all 450 at one time in boxes of 50, if so, it would be easy to see you had 9 boxes rather than 10. Or do you load a box or two of 50 then load more maybe days or weeks after shooting those first boxes? My point is did you accurately count 450? Being off by exactly 50 makes me wonder.

When I reload, I use tray of 50 so I keep tract of quantity so I know what I left in my inventory of components.

There is normally extra in the box. Usually 2-3. I got shorted on some bags of brass 1 time and contacted the mfg and received a couple 100 more to make it right. Most of the companies will make it right if they stand behind there product.

I loaded the box at one time and put them in tray to inspect they and only had 9 trays.

I have been shorted a few bullets here and there over the years. By now the extras they include in each box has more than made up for any shortages. Rainier/Berries/X-treme and Cabellas/Midway have all been stand up companies to deal with IMHO.

I had a similar weirdness happen... I was loading some Nosler "Varmageddon" FB HP bullets to be used in a 5.56. I got a couple of totally messed up bullets - the lead wasn't cut off the pointy ends and it extended out of the jackets. The jackets were also messed up.

I dropped them in the mail and simply said they should check their QA process and make sure that since they count out 100 bullets so carefully, they should make sure they're all useable.

They sent me a little itty bitty bag of a couple of single bullets a few weeks later.

Can't fault their customer service. They replaced what was faulty!

Sierra Bullets aren't always my first choice, but they always seem to put an extra 2-3 bullets in every box. I've yet to have any that were defective from them so those extras just give me a couple to set up my dies and still be able to load 100 rounds without pulling down my dummy rounds right away. Gotta appreciate that. Hornady bullets tend to be my favorites, great products and usually a little cheaper, but they don't give you the extra 2-3.
