I picked up my overdue birthday present yesterday, a Dan Wesson PM1S. Fit and Finish was excellent, felt great in my hand. (I love 1911's) :D

Took it to the range today to have some alone time with my new toy. I used 150 rounds of fiocchi 230 grain FMJ, and 50 rounds of American Eagle 230 grain FMJ. No failures and was dead on when I did my part.

I've had one for about six months now. Overall, I love it (see my comment in "Dan Wesson 1911's?"). Shot it today, in fact. As a followup, I had my first jam today. Speer Gold Dot, 230gr, failure to feed. Looks like the bullet stuck on the feed ramp. I'm going to take it apart and look at it shortly; I want to see if there's any debris on the ramp that might have caused it to jam, and I'll check the magazines as well. Other than that, and the annoyances I posted in the other thread, I love it!

Flyboy, mine is at the factory even as we speak, for the same issue. IF your magazine well is slightly oversize, (check your fore and aft play on an inserted mag), and IF your mag catch is located on the low side of the maufacturing tolerance, (this combination is more common on earlier serial numbers - mine is in the low 1000's), then any bullet profile other than hardball runs the risk of the flat or cavity catching the bottom edge of the feedramp and stopping. I spoke to "Keith" at DW - he assures me he can fix the problem by recontouring the feedramp with a Dremel - (his voice had that "been hit by THAT train before" sound to it). If you bought yours new, you shouldn't be out anything, except maybe shipping. If not, he is charging me $35 plus shipping both ways.
