Greetings,
Whilst out pawnshopping, I've run across various off-brands of .22 Peacemaker ripoffs.
I nearly bought a Hawes (made by Sauer, as in Sig) for $125, but made the mistake of waiting a day. Picked up a Tangfolio for $65, as I let the store know that I was buying it as a training piece for the UT Austin campus range.
I've also seen the usual Heritage/Roughrider models, some FIE (as low as $70 in Los Angeles @LA Guns, wth?), Hi-Standard, etc. I know that Hi-Standard is famed for making great semis and terrible DA revolvers, but how are their SAs?
Which of these are good plinkers/trainers for $100 or so, and which are potmetal junk?
Before anyone chimes in and tells me to save my money and get a good one, I already have a Bearcat, a MkII, and my father has a Single Six, so I'm no stranger to decent sixguns. Just wanting to know which cheapies are okay, and which are just good for scrap aluminum and zinc.
Thanks for any info, -MV
