hello,
ive had an rcbs chargemaster 1500 for about 7 months now. i only have one question. it works fine with ball and pistol powders, but doesnt play well with extruded powders. when the powder dispenser is done with the charge, it clumps up in one big pile. when i accidently bump the scale, a few granuales fall out and i have to sweep them off. also, this problem causes the weight to be .1 or .2 above the desired charge(the dispenser releases more powder than desired at the end, causing the above problem). i have heard of people using mcdonalds straws, but how would one put this onto the dispenser?
thanks

Put a wrap of scotch tape around the straw to make a tight fit when the straw is inserted into the tube. The piece of straw only has to be about an inch long. Leave about 1/4 inch sticking out of the end. You don't want it all the way inside the tube. Just enough tape to increase the straw's diameter to hold it in place. I hope this helps you out. This works best with the extruded powders for me. I just used mine today with h380 and it still dribbled extra, so maybe someone has a hint for that. H380 is like ball bearings. Really flows smoothly.

I use a small length of sippy-cup internal straw. All you're trying to do is to make the last length of tube smooth instead of threaded.

Also look up how to reprogram the 1500 for optimal speed. :)

The straw trick does wonders lol. FWIW McDonalds straw fits the best I found.

Spits out trailboss slowly, BUT very accurately. Varget goes much better now. WAY fewer overcharges.

Thanks !!!
I will try that trick too although I just did get done loading my Target Loads.
235 grains of Reloder 50 - had to throw back over 2/3rds of dispensings to get within +/- 0.1 grains per charge.
235 grains of VV 20N29 was a little bit better.
225 grains of H5010 was mos consistent.
Forgot how H50BMG was, loaded it over a year ago.

I load a lot with Varget which is arguably one of the worst powders for metering. With my CM, MCD straw and changed settings it works like a charm.
