Just moved up to the Lee Classic Turret...only to find that the turret holes are too closely spaced for the size of the lock rings on my RCBS die sets. Bummer.

I was initially tempted to purchase Lee lock rings to install on the dies, but they look a little flaky with the rubber o-rings instead of actual set screws.

Anyone have suggestions for better lock rings to purchase?

As much as I dislike the Lee lock rings for my purposes (I do not use Lee presses), they are great on the Lee turret press.

Set the dies and jam them in place with the lock ring. Get extra turrets for different cartridges. Having a turret set up for each cartridge makes changing a snap.

I use the Lee rings on my LCT turrets. I also use them on my RCII single stage now. In fact the more I use them the better I like them. Once you get the hang of them they don't move. I like them now better than the RCBS with the set screw. (Guess I'm weird)

Put me in the like them group. I change my dies to different presses all the time. No wrenches needed just twist & out it comes.

If you are buying extra turrets & your one of those people that hates change & refuse to move to something better then you can turn them over & lock them down with a wrench.

They are anything but flaky. They fit perfectly on the turret and once set they aren't going anywhere easily.

I also like them. When I first started reloading, many years ago, I had more fights with the RCBS rings than everything else combined. Once the lead shot was crushed into the threads they were almost impossible to move. And the screwdriver slot on the brass screw soon wallowed out. A lot of rings should fit, but, you can end up paying almost as much for rings as for dies if you are not careful.

I like them and use them on my Hornady LNL AP. I also use the Hornady locking collars with the set screw, but the screw doesn't dig into the threads of the die like RCBS. Won't ever use the RCBS rings. BTW, I have Lee, Lyman, Hornady and RCBS dies installed on my LNL for both 9mm and 45ACP with a mixture of Lee and Hornady lock rings.

tighten the die into the press using the lock ring and not the die body. Same when you remove them.. do it by the lock right instead of the body. Your dies don't come out of adjustment then.
