Facebook, a large social-networking site focused on college students, allows the purchase of banner ads that can be targeted at specific "networks" (college campuses)...I checked the pricing today and a 200 character ad that is shown 10,000 times can be had for 5 dollars/day.

As a college student who is frustrated at Texas law prohibiting the carrying of a concealed weapon on campus by CHL holders, I figured I would post this up here for anyone else in the same boat as me...it may be an effective way to reach a large number of like-minded people to coordinate action.

200 character ad? Are graphics allowed? If so, I suggest you consult with Oleg* on developing an appropriate ad and then utilize the new "Activism" subforum here on THR to carry through.

In case you are new to THR, Oleg Volk is the owner of this site and is a photographer/designer who creates pro-RKBA posters and graphics.

I feel for you, My Wife works at UCR in ca she tells me all the time abought the PC of the school and it`s employes, She has been asked not to wear her Cross at work and has to put up with gender netural awarness clases and has to bite her lip so as not to offend anyone..
I have a laughf every year when she comes home and tells me how they have to move kids from room to room because the Black kid dosn`t want to share a room with a Jewish kid? and so on, Now they have floors for the Gay kids, the Black kids, the Mexican kids, asian and well you get it. The funny thing is that they preach deversity???? The PC of the whole thing is killing our schools.. I don`t think it will ever be PC for our kids to CCW in our schools having been a Campus Poilce Officer years ago I`m not sure it would be in the best interest for that to happen,As for the safety of our kids in schools I think we need to teach our kids to report all odd behavor by fellow students, and the Police depts that protect our kids shouldn`t fear PC when dealing with them.

I played with the interface and it appears to accept graphics. I would post one of Oleg's posters (since I have a great many of them saved from my year or so of lurking), but the ads are funny shaped...very tall and skinny, like a standard banner ad turned on end. I dont think there will be room for anything truly elaborate, since the text probably wont be legible.

I'll check out the Anti-Hillary group.

I've already contacted the TSRA and TCDL to see if either would like to help...I'm going to hold off on messing with the ads until I hear back, otherwise theres not much to really advertise :)

The irony! "We think you are responsible enough to carry a handgun concealed,so here is your permit". "Oh, you just can't carry at State schools, because we don't think you're responsible enough"... :scrutiny:

Give me the ad specifications, I'll try to make something to fit. I've worked with "pillar print" format before.

Cut some things from the FAQ (click on advertise at the bottom of the page)
