Ok, so here is a thought that I came up with recently reading about all the missing/upside down flags being flown at schools.

Since an Upside Down flag is THE distress signal, if you drove by a school and saw that, what would you do?

Also, in a hostile environment, a missing flag is a sign that an encampment has been taken over, what would you do in this case?

Call the superintendent and tell him that the school's principal is an idiot.

Well in this day and age, what with the school shootings and lockdowns and such, how would you know that the school is really under distress, or that it's just a bunch of kids being punks?

GeekWithA.45: Not necessarily, but it would certianly cross my mind. I would at least call 911 in that case.

Kevlarman: That would be the issue: you cannot tell if they are in trouble, or if it is stupid kids. The whole "better safe than sorry" thing would come in.

In a real crisis situation at a public school, nobody is going to have time to run outside, take down the flag, flip it over and run it back up the pole.

In addition, most people there aren't going to know thats what an upside down flag means ... thanks to "progressive" idiots like Rage Against the Machine and most in public education, most people think an upside down flag means "America Sucks!"

Your average kid has clue what an upside down American Flag represents so why assume it means anything at all. Most people believe it is disrespectful and that is why they do it.
